i'm sorry.. but.. more Maine

so.. more things we did in Maine. We ate s'mores around the outdoor fire on my parent's deck. We also went to my Nana's house on Little Sebago lake and went out in the canoe adn sailboat. John decided it was better to sit on the back of the canoe if he was by himself. It looked pretty funny. I'm sure everyone around the lake was wondering what he was doing.. hha. John also tried Maine's famous soda "moxie"- as you can see from his face- it's pretty gross. You'd be surprised how many peopel in Maine actually like that stuff. There was a huge snapping turtle on the street outside their house! It was creepy looking. While we were swimming, it came down and joined us in the water.. ahhh!

and yet more..

Maria
Mom and Lucia
Dad and IWhile in Maine, we also went to the beach, only to find tons of fog!!! It was strange because inland, it was a beautiful day!!! We also did some kayaking and had a little family reunion on my dad's side. It was really fun to see people I hadn't seen in forever. Plus, my dad's family has awesome get-togethers with great Italian food!

More Maine- Our Lobster Boat Trip

Okay- It's back to blogging about our Maine trip. We went on a lobster boat ride and got to help gather the lobster. It was awsesome! We got to learn all about lobstering, bait traps, measure the lobster, pull up traps, lower them, and put rubber bands on the claws. So cool! John is now convinced he should become a lobsterman and spend his days on the sea. He came home from work the day after we got back and said all he could think about was how he should be a lobsterman and work on a boat. It cracked me up!

More Fun with Laura

So.. Laura and I also painted our toe nails, John took Laura for a motorcycle ride, and we went to comedy sportz with the brothers. We also had the boys over for dinner on Sunday and we played games and watched home videos. And of course, we had to play games- because- let's be honest- what would a DiFiore gathering be without games?? We had such a fun weekend. It was so fun to hang out with all the kids in our family!!

Camping and Tubing

We took Laura camping.. with some friends of ours. The view was amazing! The camping spot was right in the middle of the mountains. So fun! We did dutch oven for dessert and breakfast. After camping, we headed out to the Provo river to do some tubing. I always forget how cold that water is, but it's definitely worth it. John and Jaelan had to do some "surgery" on one of the tubes. It was a little beat up and had holes. Poor Jaelan had to get out a million times to refill it with air. It was a fun weekend!!!

More of Laura's Visit

Here is more pics of Laura's visit. We went to the pool, along with my friend Clarissa, and John's sister Jeanna came with her kids! Way fun! We played with the beach ball and pool floaties and it felt good since it was so hot out! John's sister, Jeanna, and her family were in town visiting- so, later on that night, John took the neices and nephews for motorcycle rides- being the great uncle that he is.. The kids LOVED it.. and we also went for a hike up to albion basin near the alta ski resort. We saw 4 moose... which I was unable to get a good picture of. The wildflowers were beautiful and it was a really pretty hike. Laura wanted to know why we weren't bringing our bathing suits if we were hiking to a lake! I laughed and told her "well.. we don't really swim in the lakes out here. I'm pretty sure she was still confused, seeing as Maine has a million lakes perfect for swimming and boating, etc. Pretty funny!
